NPP In ActionThe Nation
"Congratulations NPP on marking your 25th! The Nation (144 years and counting) values (and faithfully uses) your rigorous, compelling work. And I have found your data of enormous value—for tv debates, articles and talks. For those who need a compass to divine the true priorities of a healthier, more just and productive country, NPP is it!"

Northeast: Army representation ratio, 2004-2005The chart below indicates the population representation of recruits for each state in the Northeast region. Each bar represents a ratio of two proportions: the state's share of total active-duty Army recruits over the state's share of the total youth population. A score of one or more means that the state is over-represented in the Army. A score of less than one means that the state is under-represented in the Army for the fiscal year.

Notes: Army data were obtained from the Army through a FOIA request submitted by NPP for 2005; 2004 data was obtained by Peacework magazine through a FOIA request and sent as received to NPP. ( categories: )
