Everyone who ever witnessed a massive, soulless waste of money has played the "what if they used that money for something important" quiz.
As I was held hostage for 2 1/2 hours watching the new Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman abomination, the thought struck me that I was participating in a repetitive and fundamentally American event.
We are a fundamentally good country, but we are astoundingly wasteful. We love to waste everything. Possibly that's because we have so much of everything that we've lost appreciation for proportion and value.
