Medicare for All, free college, and the Green New Deal are often labeled “too ambitious” or “unaffordable” by politicians from both sides of the aisle.

But voters have made clear that those are precisely the issues they want to see debated. Take Medicare for All, for example. Its the leading policy issue among a crowded field.

Public opinion polls show growing support for the ambitious proposal to expand Medicare, but policymakers and government officials are still debating how, exactly, a program as large as Medicare for All might be financed.

Lindsay Koshgarian, director of the National Priorities Project at the Institute for Policy Studies, joined Rising Up With Sonali to argue that paying for Medicare for All isn’t as hard as voters are led to believe, and that we must start with cutting the military budget.
