FEATURING LINDSAY KOSHGARIAN – President Joe Biden has announced a $5.8 trillion federal budget whose key priorities are out of line with his campaign platform. His budget includes significant increases in military and police spending. In an attempt to center the progressive aspects of his budget, Biden announced in a statement that he was taking steps to overturn his predecessor’s tax cuts on the rich. But there was no significant spending on social issues, economic justice, or combating climate change. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, head of the Senate Budget Committee said firmly that, “We do not need a massive increase in the defense budget.”
