Our federal budget keeps growing and a lot of the growth is foreign to what this country more or less needs. I keep reading excerpts in the newspaper about Congress pushing the federal government, I should say the Pentagon budget, first one way then another for their desires, which has nothing to do with what the defense establishment requests. The one that caught my attention sometime ago was that Congress thought the Pentagon needed more tanks. And the Pentagon said “no, we’ve got plenty of tanks.” But they were trying to push more tanks on them. This is purely some congressman in a situation where some of his constituents like to build tanks for profit, and that’s a reasonable thing for them to do if it’s required, but no way should we push for things that the military does not need, or want, or see any advantage with...
