Fighting for a U.S. federal budget that prioritizes peace, economic security and shared prosperity
I am from the bottom of the equation. Without the home mortgage interest deduction (HMID) I would not be able to manage my expenses at all. I bought a tiny house 18 years ago at $85,500, which was the bottom of the market at the time. My home payment is less than almost everyone's apartment rent. I honestly don't know how I'd be able to manage without HMID on my single person clerical job wages. The prospect of losing this deduction terrifies me!Doris from Fort Washington, MD | Map
