The newly passed Republican budget will cause completely unnecessary human suffering on a massive scale.

The budget will strip health insurance and food stamps from millions of Americans while making the richest among us even richer.  But the GOP's budget also enacts historic increases for the Pentagon and funds disastrous, inhumane, and illegal mass deportation policies.

That money represents more foreign conflicts, more gratuitous bombing of other nations and their civilian populations, more immigrant neighbors kidnapped and separated from their families and communities.

This militarized MAGA agenda harms working families and our communities. It will be paid for with cuts to programs that help people meet their basic needs and will disproportionately benefit private contractors, further enrich billionaires, and exacerbate waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Alternative investments that build a more secure and equitable society for everyone are necessary and possible.
