If legislators funded ICE and CBP at those levels for the current year, combined with funding from the Big Bad Bill, the annual budgets for those agencies would total $64.9 billion (assuming the Big Bad Bill funds are spent equally over the 51 months they’re available). That amounts to a 92 percent increase over the previous highest funding level for the agencies, which was $33.8 billion in FY 2019;  a 209 percent increase since FY 2024; and a 441 percent increase since the creation of ICE in FY 2002.

Across the country, communities are calling out the administration’s lawlessness - both in its brutal immigration enforcement and its reckless intervention in another country.

This Election Day, progressive ideas swept the polls this month on Election Day. Across multiple elections at the state and local government levels, voters chose pro-people and planet agendas over militarism, fossil fuels, and billionaire corporate interests. 

Amid a wave of attacks on migrants, 80 percent of Americans now say immigration is good for this country — a record high.

Since taking office this year, President Trump and his administration have been unapologetically loud and harmful about immigration. And they’re using the U.S. military to help do all of it. 

While the continuing resolution is a step in the wrong direction, we must stay focused on an even bigger fight ahead: budget reconciliation.   

People all over are showing up in defense for our immigrant communities. We're fighting back against Trump's most blatant hate agenda and everyone else who is giving him a helping hand.

We’ve supported the ongoing fight for a federal budget that prioritizes people and the planet over power and profit. Next year and onward, we'll continue the fight.

Last week, I joined an action hosted by United We Dream in DC. We demanded a ceasefire now in Gaza and permanent protections for immigrants who have made this country our home. 

The $118 billion bill that Senate leaders put forward this week is a deal that never should have been made.
